stamp making (and other non government approved activities)

We've been planning to make our own stampers for a while. I saw Sam's stamp making tutorial and I thought it was rather lovely and so we decided to have a go - and as we've been mildly obsessive about the weather recently (or, more accurately the phrase "will it snow tonight?") we made the stamps weather themed. We learnt about embossing and improvised with little screwdrivers which did the job just fine. There was no bloody fingers - and with the use of a craft mat we were able to stop the table getting hurt too.

They were easy and lots of fun to do. It was interesting to see how each child's personality traits came out in their stamp making. EB went a bit odd and obsessive about his, going slightly mad at the end and embossing like a crazy person.

MB went all artistic and completely deviated from the template he had made for his cloud, but it turned out good anyway. OD did a million and one practice sketches before she could bear to finally make hers. We've kept them all and will be making a big collage out of them by the end of the week. MB made the sky for the background today, stage two commences tomorrow afternoon.

Shrek spent most of his time stacking paint pots (lids well sealed) and transferring marbles from one tub to another. The latter is definitely not a government approved I imagine, which made it doubly sweet when he didn't attempt to eat any of them - and he can say over twenty words so yaboosucks Mr Minister.

Lovely, lovely, lovely :-) So much fun, and so easy - my kind of craft.

Well done, Shrek, for not eating the marbles. Always a plan :-)
