I was going to break the past few days up in a series of posts but the days are blurry, so I will have to be content with a general summing up.
The kids have been playing lots of spy games (this is particularly unnerving when you are on the loo and hear whispering voices outside the door.) It involved making a camp on the landing, and a very fancy looking hand print entry system thought up by Mb. (He traced his hand, cut it out and stuck it on his door.)
We've been talking about maths a lot, which I think stems from my uploading an "In Our Time" Podcast which the kids overheard, and there has been a lot of board game playing due to the inclement weather. They even made up a game, which goes like this:
You need: Numbers drawn onto cards about 1 inch square, we used 1 to 30. You draw one number on each piece of card.
How to play: Place all cards face down, each player picks up a card without looking, a player decides whether to call higher or lower. Every one then looks at their cards, if lower has been called, then the person with the lowest number wins, and if higher is called then the person with the highest number wins. There were many, many variations of this game played, including picking up two numbers and deciding to add or subtract once higher or lower was called.
There was some ingenious use of toys to make a panda operating theatre:
And some discussion/ art about allergies:
There was the brainwave to tip moon sand over the table to make an authentic pirates treasure island:
And finally, Shrek managed a little bit of piano playing, which is a sure sign that he is on the mend:

Blogger ate my comment, so apologies if you get it twice!
Poor Shrek - hopefully he'll return to full health quickly now. And hopefully you'll get a chance to rest too.
The others look like they've been busy, and the game is great :-)
I hope all returns to normal soon, whatever normal consists of in a home-ed house!
love that allergy art :D
