the theme is inspiration

There is nothing more inspiring than children. They see things where (most) adults just don't. The old curtain pole? It's obviously Little Johns Staff. The bottom of the garden that I've been planning to tidy all summer long? It's the Jungle, so it has to stay exactly as it is. (Phew)

This leads nicely to our recent scrapstore visit. We were there for nearly two and a half hours. We are very lucky, in that ours is a friendly store, where children are positively encouraged. Because of home education, and not having to stick to a school timetable, we are able to go during the week days and have all of the crafty wonderfulness to ourselves, not to mention the personal attention of a super knowledgeable lovely lady, who knew exactly where to find the peculiar requirements of my brood.

Which is a good thing. My children would not welcome their deep thought and deliberation being continually interrupted by others. A visit to scrapstore is a serious event, there is much to consider. MB took over twenty minutes to decide which type of shiny paper he wanted for the sword. EB was looking for some very specific dalek parts and OD was extremely busy collecting the items she needed for the winter village she intends to make for Christmas. Then there was the material I needed, the rather stunning collection of wool and thread oddments, the offcuts of card, large barrels of foam and rubber offcuts to stick our hands in up to our elbows, and generally lots of sighing and aaahing from all.

Lastly, I have pictures of some of our hoard to show you:

So many ideas, so little time.......
