more developments on the reading scheme

If you've read this blog before you'll know I've been on a mini mission to help MB with his reading. You may remember this box I put together. I am happy to report that it went well. We played lots and lots and lots of games and I was impressed at the number of rude (to a five year old anyway) words that he could make from the phonics domino cards.

So, what next in our unpatented, untested reading scheme. Well, we do lots of reading anyway, even if it the Hawkins Bazaar catalogue. He wants the banana guard for Christmas.

I have recently found this website called Storybook and which induced a brainwave. We could borrow the books mentioned in the library and then go on the website and play the games, try out the word bank and interview the authors. Minimal effort on my part and he gets to feel big and important and play on the 'tooter' like his big siblings. Happy faces all round.

We're starting with Never Keep a Python as a Pet.
