I collected together the following list of books, gathered the children in the room with a pile of scrap paper bookmarks with their initials on and asked them to find things that interested them. The list is varied, and long enough to last us until Spring 2012.
365 TV free Activities for Toddlers
Crafts Made Easy
101 Things to Make
The Curious Girl's Book of Adventure
The Curious Boy's book of Discovery
Classic Indoor Games
Usborne Activities for All Year Round
Usborne Christmas Decorations and Cards
Usborne 365 Things to Make and Do
Recycling Fun - Decorations, Games and Gifts to Make
Recycling Fun - Make Your Own Toys
Recycled Crafts Box
As well as....
Making home made plastic
Playing with the pretty Christmas printables from the Toymaker
Seeing if we can beat last years score
Romping through papercraft tutorials at this site.
Learning about the complex and often bizarre history of Christmas around the world.
We've also bought tickets for a Winter Puppet Show, booked a regular space on a science course with another bunch of home educators and started making Christmas gifts. This year we've gone for layering milk and dark chocolate and adding the peppermints and cream to white chocolate like a sandwich. Very yum.
Looks like we're all set.
