days of

Pumpkin carving, lantern lighting, dragon drawing.

Researching local historical events.

Sleeping.

Ah, so much better after a good nights sleep.

Reading. Lots of reading. Dinosaur Atlas, Percy Jackson, 1001 questions and answers, Wuthering Heights (again) and Ancient Superstructures.

Dancing, singing and the practice of magic tricks.

Kirsty inspired baking and it worked. Light as air scones I tell you.

Daydreaming, sketching, creating with clay after watching the inspiring BBC series Ceramics: A fragile history. The discovery that coil pots are blummin' tricky to make.

Bridge assessments. In the local town there are two different designs, one a pedestrian one for vehicles.

Eating out, altogether.

Buying waterproofs, wearing waterproofs.

Rain and sunshine and ancient castles, beaches, rivers, woods, valleys and mud and sand and rocks.

Cars getting stuck in the mud.....and kindly strangers spending FOUR hours winching the car free.

And ten year olds politely reminding mothers that they told them not to drive up that track. And mothers admitting graciously that they were very, very wrong.

Garden dreams, mostly in plant form but a family hankering for some beautiful sculptures, and a seven year old whispering "I could make that"

Working out the new heating system....only took three chilly days.

And now. Now we are staying up very very late to watch the car rally go by at the top of the hill.
