What they really mean: Harriets mother told Harriet that you will fail all your GCSEs. Harriet is 7, she probably doesn't even know what a GCSE is.
Another Mum: "Gosh! Hasn't your hair got long!"
What they really mean: "You need a hair cut."
Yet another Mum: "Isn't your baby healthy?"
What they really mean: "Isn't your baby fat and rather ugly?"
My daughter "You look funky today Mum."
What they really mean: "You look slightly bizarre."
The lady in Tesco's "You don't look old enough to have all these children."
What they really mean "You are obviously a child bride and/or a harlot"
Oh, and I am now officially skint as have had to buy a new mattress, and a king size waterproof sheet. (That got some interesting glances in the shop.)
