I haven't been here for a while. It wasn't a planned break, but it was needed.
This is Smudge, much loved already. He is going on his maiden voyage next week, provided the lift vests arrive in time.
Smudge is a sixteen foot, steel hulled, ex police boat. He has two sets of oars and a cheaty outboard motor.
I have flares (pack of three).
I'm not even joking.
