Here in our little part of the world, we are lucky to have a small waterfall. It was a raging, noisy affair over the Winter. I could hear it easily from my bedroom window, which is a blessing/ curse depending on what the sound of running water does to your bladder!
The weather has been freakishly warm for this time of year, and knowing it wasn't going to last we made the most of every moment we could outside.
I think the ability to alter the course of water is a very powerful thing for a child. It took mine all day nearly to build a dam at the top of the waterfall and direct a small amount of water into another area. The dam was made of pebbles and larger stones from the stream below. I noticed that Lb was mostly directing the others from the other side, and that Od and Eb did most of the work. Mb skipped off every so often for a quick play on the tree swing nearby.
It was a good place to play as they had shade from the Sun, and the water is only a couple of inches deep, so enough to feel cooling without soaking. Not that that really stopped Eb.
